HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. (WABC) -- Rescuers freed a man who had been trapped in a rock quarry Tuesday in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.
The man had been operating an excavator at the Gibraltar quarry on County Road when a rock slide took place and a huge boulder slammed into the cab.
He was stuck for about an hour before dozens of firefighters were able to extricate him and bring him to safety.
The man was conscious but suffered extensive leg injuries and was taken to a waiting medical helicopter.
